TPJC 24th Student Council President's Speech
A very good morning to our principal Ms Choo, vice-principal Mr Tan, teachers distinguished guests and TPJCians. Today is the day I stand proud to present and represent the 24th student council, students, friends, classmates, schoolmates, councillors whom you have nominated voted and elected. Today is a momentous occasion for our term as councillors.
As the 24rd student council it may have been a short walk running up to this day but indeed it was an enriching and arduous task where we did make many mistakes. Having thought long and hard and drafting various proposals we finally settled upon Radix as the theme for our investiture. Radix, roots. That is what we the 24th have hoped to achieve. We believe that in order to grow to become a tall tree we must first start from our roots. As the 24th student council we see a TPJC that could and would provide us as the grounds for us to grow upon.
To the 24thstudent council, standing here today, representing and being part of such a great council body as this is indeed a great honour. Today marks the start of our journey as a council, a story that I hope we shall treasure forever. So I implore you the 24th student council to make these memories last, treasure the effort, work and late-nights we shall put in, treasure that end result that you would so duly work for and most of all treasure this journey that we shall make together. I hope that this will keep us together and forge bonds which will never be broken.
And this journey that we have begun on would have been headed down hill if not for our guides at the start. Our mentors. The 23rd student council and the staff that have stood behind us in the past few weeks principal Ms Choo and Vice Principal Mr Tan. Having been through the thick and thin of the past month with the 23rd student council, we like to thank all of you for the invaluable knowledge you have passed on to us. A legacy that you have etched in our hearts. Stepping down today has ended the journey of the undertaking, but the journey of success I believe has and will indeed live on.
And once again I would like to thank all the guests who have taken time off to grace this momentous occasion and 24th student council let us make this an investiture to remember.Thank You.
