The First Aid Society extends its membership to all students who wish to contribute their service to their College and community by carrying out first aid and other activities which help to support life. In 2009, we have 19 JC2 members. Objectives The first objective of the Society is to equip members with first aid knowledge and skills so that they can provide first aid to the College community during sports events. It is also an CCA which provides an opportunity for members to acquire organisational and leadership skills. The executive committee should preferably have first aid training and experience as the tradition is to train new members ourselves by sharing the skills and knowledge available within the society first. If such students are not available then other students who have leadership qualities and are keen to learn may be elected. Members who were trained by organisations such as the St. John's Ambulance Association Brigade in secondary school usually help to train others. Next, we look to external organisations such as the Ministry of Health and the Civil Defence Force and professional bodies to give us further education and training. Members also carry out other duties such as stock checking of first aid boxes and gathering support for an annual blood donation session in College.
