WELCOME TO OUR WEBPAGE

BADMINTON CLUB

TPJC 2007

 General Information

Badminton is one of the fastest racket sports in the world. The shuttle can leave the racket at almost 200mph. One look at badminton athletes in action will demonstrate that badminton is truly a physically demanding sport. Today's players compete in a lightning-fast sport which demands constant, highly concentrated actions: running, jumping, twisting, stretching, running backwards and striking. Besides explosiveness, quick reflexes and rapid hand-eye coordination, competitive badminton players must also possess superb aerobic endurance. In a typical two-game singles match, top players will cover nearly every inch of the court and travel more than a mile.

Badminton is distinguished from other racket sports in that it uses a shuttle instead of a ball. Also, the shuttle is always in volley, unlike the other racket sports. The shuttle in volley creates the rushed pace of the game.
